The all-new rugged and sophisticated styling of the 2024 CR-V advances Honda's rugged exterior design direction for its light trucks, drawing inspiration from the recently redesigned Ridgeline and Passport TrailSport. A strong horizontal beltline emphasises its longer overall length (+2.7 inches), while a 1.6-inch longer wheelbase and 0.4-inch wider stance give it a stronger, more aggressive presence.

A large, upright grille, a long hood, and standard LED headlights highlight the bold new styling. Higher trims have a gloss black grille mesh with a chrome trim, body-color side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels as standard. The 6th-generation CR-V is instantly recognisable from the back, thanks to a sleek body-color roof spoiler and a new, all-LED interpretation of signature vertical taillights.

The CR-V Sport and Sport Touring have an all-new 4th-generation two-motor hybrid-electric system with a newly refined 2.0-liter Atkinson cycle 4-cylinder engine that adds direct fuel injection and is mated to a pair of electric motors that are now mounted side-by-side for a sportier driving experience. With this new configuration, a larger propulsion motor with increased torque output can be used. The combined system output is 2041 hp (an increase of 3 hp, ISO net), and the traction-motor peak torque is 247 lb.-ft (up 15 lb.-ft.). While the EX and EX-L also get an updated 1.5-liter turbo engine that produces 190 Horsepower.

The 1.5-liter turbo's continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) has been updated to reduce noise and vibration. Step-Shift programming, which simulates gear changes at full throttle, improves drivability and performance significantly. A new Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System improves traction management in wet and icy conditions. The system, which is now available on all grades and standard on Sport Touring, can now send up to 50% of engine torque to the rear wheels.

With a focus on the driver, technology has been smartly integrated into the new CR-V's cabin including a digital instrument display and a significantly larger standard touchscreen with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

On the left side of the 7-inch digital instrument panel is an all-digital tachometer on EX and EX-L models, or a digital power flow metre on Sport and Sport Touring models, and a physical speedometer on the right. User-selectable functions on the 7-inch multi-information display include Honda Sensing® settings, vehicle information, and more. Higher trims also come standard with a standard 9-inch touchscreen with a physical volume knob, wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android AutoTM compatibility, and a simplified navigation structure with fewer menus. A 12 Speaker Premium Bose Surround Speaker system is also available on higher trims along with a Qi compatible wireless charger to make charging your phone on the go easier.

A new wide-angle camera and millimeter-wave radar are part of the Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver assistive technologies. The new camera has a field of view of 90 degrees, while the radar has a field of view of 120 degrees. This wide angle improves collision prevention performance by improving the ability to recognise object attributes such as vehicles or pedestrians, as well as white lines, road boundaries such as curbs, other vehicles, pedestrians, bicyclists, motorcycles, and road signs. The wide angle also allows the CR-V to have a wider control range at intersections. The suite of safety features also include:

  • Blind Spot Monitoring
  • Traffic Jam assist with Low speed Braking Control and Traffic Sign Recognition
  • Adaptive Cruise control with Low-Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist
