The 2025 Honda HR-V in Mississauga, Ontario
The Stylish and Sporty Honda HR-V is here for 2025 to bring it closer to the modern offerings from Honda:
- Clean, sporty and upscale exterior and interior styling
- Standard 7-inch digital instrumentation includes the tachometer, digital speedometer and multi-information display (separate analog speedometer included)
- Standard 7-inch color touchscreen with Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility
- Available HD 9-inch color touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay® & Android Auto™ compatibility (EX-L)
- For the new model year, the vehicle brings Real Time All-Wheel Drive with Intelligent Control
- Based on the new Honda global architecture, like the new 11th-generation Civic
The HR-V design features a low horizontal beltline that starts at the enlarged hood and extends over the rear fenders, giving the vehicle a stately, elegant appearance. The HR-V's increased width (2.6 inches larger) and broad-shouldered stance are accentuated by widely spaced LED headlights and taillights.
The total length has increased by 9.4 inches. The front features an expressive grille flanked by air curtain inlets that direct air through the bumper and around the front wheels, enhancing aerodynamic efficiency.
For a more premium look, laser-brazing technology removes the need for unsightly roof moldings, and the windshield wipers on the HR-V tuck away beneath the hood line when not in use. The sculpted hatch and standard tailgate spoiler emphasize the HR-V's aggressive rear proportions, while the outer edges of the taillights have been contoured to improve aerodynamics.
The redesigned HR-V boasts enhanced structural integrity, an upgraded independent rear suspension, and a larger, more responsive engine aimed at delivering a dynamic driving experience. Similar to the 11th-generation Civic, the HR-V's architecture is built on Honda's latest global platform, enabling advancements in ride comfort, handling, and overall refinement.
Each 2025 HR-V is equipped with a larger 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine generating 158 horsepower (SAE net @ 6,500 rpm) and 138 pound-feet of torque (SAE net @ 4,200 rpm). This new engine delivers increased power (+17 horsepower and +11 lb.-ft. of torque) compared to the 1.8-liter 4-cylinder engine found in the first-generation HR-V, offering improved drivability, refinement, and reduced emissions.
The standard continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) has undergone a redesign to enhance power distribution, refinement, and engine acoustics. This updated transmission is also more responsive, benefiting from improved G-Design programming and Honda's 'Step-Shift' programming, which simulates gear shifts during full-speed acceleration.
Technology is seamlessly integrated into the HR-V interior, marking the debut of a digital instrument display and significantly larger standard and optional color touchscreens featuring Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto connectivity. All HR-V trim levels come standard with a 7-inch color LCD instrument display.
On the left side of the instrument panel, there's an all-digital speedometer and tachometer, while the right side features a conventional speedometer dial. The 7-inch multi-information display offers user-selectable functions including Honda Sensing® settings and vehicle information.
The LX and Sport variants feature a new 7-inch color touchscreen with physical knobs for audio system volume and station tuning, buttons for mode selection along the bottom, and a streamlined menu structure.
The new single-camera Honda Sensing® package of safety and driver-assisting systems, initially introduced with the 11th-generation Civic, comes standard on the HR-V.
This updated system features a 100-degree field of view, twice as wide as the previous camera-and-radar combination. It can identify key features and distinguish attributes such as vehicles or pedestrians, as well as white lines, road boundaries like curbs, other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists, and road signs.
New to the HR-V are Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) and Traffic Sign Recognition (TSR), along with improved responses for existing features like Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low-Speed Follow and Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS).
